Native Planting at Fahnestock State Park
October 14 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Come help us restore habitat for the New England cottontail rabbit at Fahnestock State Park in Cold Spring, NY (Putnam Co). We’re also going to be planting spring blooming natives for a Xerces Society pollinator study.
We’ll be planting the small plants that Wild Woods Restoration Project volunteers have grown from local native seeds.
Our planting area is about 1/4 mile in along the trails over relatively level ground. We’ll be planting small plants with lightweight tools.
Everyone is welcome. No experience is necessary. We provide the tools.
Limited to 10 participants. Advance registration is required.
For more information, contact us at info@wildwoodsproject.org or 845-614-0253.
This event is jointly hosted by Wild Woods Restoration Project, NYS OPRHP (Parks), and the Xerces Society.
